Press release from the issuing company
Valid USA, a subsidiary of Valid, one of the world’s largest producers of financial, pre-paid and identification cards, installed an HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press in its Downers Grove, Illinois location. The company will use the press to produce payment, pre-paid and identification cards, from debit and credit cards, to gift cards and smart cards, for major bank card issuers, retailers and government organizations. As the first company to use the press to print on synthetic substrates, Valid USA is able to implement new techniques to offer their clients secure and customized payment and identification solutions, while streamlining production.
Valid USA’s new HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press allows the company to gain new efficiencies, such as in-line coating and priming, and print on substrates up to 650 microns with reduced operator intervention. Additionally, HP Indigo ElectroInk and seven on-press ink stations s enable Valid USA to provide high print quality and consistent colors to meet stringent corporate branding and government issued credential requirements. The company is also able to streamline its supply chain, printing only what is needed when it’s needed to prevent over-stocking and reduce waste and set up times.
“Before installing the HP Indigo 30000 Digital Press, our digital presses printed on a smaller sheet size and could only fit 21-up, limiting our ability to be cost effective,” explained Dan Frederickson, vice president of sales, Valid USA. “The HP Indigo 30000 is a workhorse machine with a larger sheet size that allows us to run 64-up, significantly increasing efficiency on press and with our downstream processes.”
