Press release from the issuing company
Atlanta, Georgia, USA – As the global flat-top dots experts, MacDermid Graphics Solutions demonstrates its commitment to the technology by previewing its latest In-The-Plate™ (ITP) additions to the LUX® ITP™ Platform at FTA INFO*FLEX 2016 in Fort Worth, Texas.
LUX® In-the-Plate™: Flat-Top Dots out of the Box
Achieving LUX-like performance and characteristics without adding steps to the workflow has been a reality since the introduction of LUX® ITP™ 60 in the spring of 2014. A persistent and focused effort to advance flexographic platemaking and printing led to the development of this new platform for flat-top dot technology, and the latest additions will be LUX® ITP™ 50 and LUX® ITP™ C.
LUX® ITP™ 50 is a 50 Shore A durometer plate that provides all of the benefits of LUX® ITP™ 60, but in a lower durometer well suited to paper substrates, or where solid coverage is the first priority. ITP™ 50 is currently in field testing, being used by a small group of leading converters. Commercial release is expected in Q2 2016.
LUX® ITP™ C is MacDermid’s capped ITP platemaking option, providing a balance of low print gain and smooth solid ink coverage. MacDermid has the industry’s longest history with capped plate development and use, and LUX® ITP™ C will build upon the 20 years of successful package printing made possible by EPIC, Digital EPIC, and Digital MCH. ITP™ C is in late stage development, with commercial release expected by Q4 2016.
MacDermid plans to commercialize these industry-changing technologies by the end of 2016.
