Microcut makes a splash for Colter & Peterson at Graphics of the Americas

Press release from the issuing company

Paterson, NJ – Following a pattern that has been consistent in recent years at the Graphics of the Americas show in Miami Beach, interest in computerized Microcut® back gauge systems remained high and traffic was steady at the Colter & Peterson booth for the February 18-20 event. Attendees from the southern U.S. matched those from Central and South America, who continue to find tremendous value with a variety of Microcut systems that counts nearly 35,000 installations worldwide.

“One of the advantages of the Graphics of the America show,” remarked Richard Peereboom, Colter & Peterson’s Sales Manager for Latin America, “is that you always meet many new people every year. It’s an excellent show to find new prospects and it gave us a great opportunity to see existing customers and catch up with them, especially those who are from outside the U.S.”

At this year’s show, Colter & Peterson showcased five Microcut retrofit versions. This included Microcut COLOR WS, Microcut PLUS, Microcut JR, Microcut B-65 and Microtrack II. All are highly effective and accurate systems, capable of accommodating any brand paper cutter ranging from 20-150 inches. Each Microcut system offers various features and benefits that appeal to small and large printers and those in-between.

“As the largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment in North America, many of the people who attend GOA understand our position in the marketplace. They know that whatever type of size paper cutter they are looking for, they will find it with us and at a very reasonable price,” quipped Peereboom.

“We sold several systems to a few of our existing dealers and to a new customer from Florida. Of the five systems, Microcut COLOR WS attracted a bit more attention than the others because we had more medium sized printers in our booth. From the conversations I had, they were very interested in the computer guidance system. It is user-friendly, and the 8” wide format touch screen display helps find the correct position to make a precise cut within 1/64th of an inch. They also understand the money savings to be gained since it saves an operator on set-up time.”

While the floor show portion of GOA is over, Peereboom says the real work now begins with follow-up on the conversations that were started in Miami Beach.

“We were very impressed with the quality of the leads. One of the differences we found in our discussions was about the strength of the U.S. dollar. We haven’t increased our prices but it makes a difference since it costs more for a Central or South American customer to buy a Microcut package than it did a year ago. That’s not an ideal situation but customers understand they are getting a very good deal to begin with. They’ve done their homework and realize nothing in the marketplace compares to Microcut.”
