AF&PA Participates in First Papermakers Day in Madison

Press release from the issuing company

WASHINGTON – The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) today participates in the first-ever Papermakers Day in Madison, Wisconsin, alongside several of its member companies.

Hosted by the Wisconsin Paper Council, the Papermakers Day advocacy event provides the opportunity for papermakers to tell the good environmental story of the Wisconsin forests products industry to legislators and staff, and to showcase the variety of paper and paper-based products produced in the state of Wisconsin.

“The pulp & paper industry employs over 30,000 men and women in Wisconsin, supporting economic growth through sustainable manufacturing practices,” said AF&PA President and CEO Donna Harman. “We are proud to join our members today to showcase the people and the industry that make hundreds of useful products we rely on for everyday life.”

The Wisconsin-based paper industry operates in approximately 200 communities, contributing $2.4 billion in payroll and $226 million in state and local taxes annually. Additionally, many large and small businesses are part of our supply chain and expand our economic reach by more than three times our direct contribution.
