June 18, 2004 -- Baldwin Technology Company, Inc., has appointed Karl Pühringer as vice president of Baldwin Europe with responsibility for the operating performance, strategic direction and organisation of Baldwin in Europe.
Regarding the appointment Gerald Nathe, Chairman and CEO of Baldwin comments:” Appointing a vice president of Europe who understands the strategic and commercial importance of both the Global European markets and, very specifically its OEM’s, was important to Baldwin. I am confident that Karl Pühringer has the experience, character and commitment to lead Baldwin Europe in a very challenging time and as a member of Baldwin’s executive management team ensures the voice of the European market will be clearly heard.”
On his additional responsibilities, Pühringer adds: “Together with our European management team, we will further strengthen our relationships with both OEM customers and end-users and increase our pace of business and technical innovation. I am looking forward to new responsibilities and opportunities.” Pühringer will also continue in his role as head of Baldwin Germany GmbH.
Pühringer joined Baldwin from A.T. Kearney in Munich, where he was responsible for project management of engagements at the operations practice. Prior to this, he was president and managing director at Voest-Alpine Indonesia and Voest-Alpine Ice Mexico respectively. Pühringer has an MSc. in Technical Physics from the Technical University in Vienna and a Masters Degree in Management from Stanford University.
