Press release from the issuing company

Ridgefield Park, NJ – June 16, 2004 – The Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) has honored Agfa’s Michael Mierjeski, technical marketing and support manager from Wilmington, Mass., with an Author's Excellence Award from the FTA’s FLEXO Magazine. Michael was one of four honorees in the group’s third annual “Author’s Excellence Awards.” “Mike has been a key contributor to our organization for some time, writing insightful technical articles, making presentations at various FTA Forums, and being involved in various standards committees,” said Robert J. Moran, publisher, Flexo. “His insight and expertise have helped our members better understand the technology that they need to deal with and learn about every day, to do their jobs better and be more productive. We like to think of the articles as real page-turners for any flexographer striving to remain one step ahead of the competition and ever-intent on producing the best possible print results achievable through careful application of state-of-the-art technology and new-age productivity enhancing practices. Statistically accurate, FLEXO’s articles draw heavily on first-hand, real-life experience.” Specifically, Mierjeski was noted for his contribution that focused on the subject of remote proofing. In the article, Mierjeski noted, “Package printers can save time and money without sacrificing quality through remote proofing.” He also outlined specific strategies and tactics so that package printers can take advantage of the benefits of remote proofing. “Here at Agfa we believe that education is a key component to success,” said Frances Cicogna, Agfa’s packaging segment manager. “Mike has spent many years educating folks on technologies that can benefit the flexographic printing process. Some of our customers have told us that his foresight is uncanny.” Agfa manufacturers, supplies and distributes a wide range of products for flexographic prepress and printing processes including film, photopolymer plates, digital proofing systems, electronic output devices and software such as the award winning :Sublima XM screening for flexographic printing.
