Graphics Microsystems and Integrated Color Solutions Announce Strategic Alliance

Press release from the issuing company

New York, NY; June 10, 2004 – Integrated Color Solutions (ICS)—the technology leader in providing color management solutions to industries where color accuracy is critical—announced today that it has formed a strategic alliance with Graphics Microsystems, Inc. to promote the use of ICS’ Remote Director monitor-based contract proofing system on web presses equipped with GMI press control systems. “We are very excited to promote the shared vision of using industry standard color management to reduce the costs and improve the efficiency in press rooms,” stated Erik Tobiason, President of GMI. “The spectral engine in our ColorQuick on-web closed loop color control system is uniquely capable of verifying the CIE L*a*b* color information supplied by the Remote Director color accurate proof. No other on-web closed loop color control system can provide true CIE L*a*b* color information.” ColorQuick’s on-web system guarantees accurate ink density for closed loop control as well as L*a*b* color verification and colorimetric and spectral reports at press-side. ColorQuick, when used with Remote Director, verifies the data supplied to guarantee final prints will be color and density accurate. “Remote Director is the state of the art in monitor-based contract proofing, and aligning with GMI, the pioneer in on-web closed loop color control systems, affirms that digital proofing has come of age,” added Jeffrey Silverman, President and CEO of Integrated Color Solutions. “The implementation of ICC color management from digital camera back to press is key to printer profitability and demonstrates ICS’s vision to increase productivity through a versatile all-digital workflow.”
