The Sofia based Arcon Bulgaria Ltd., has chosen Lake Image Systems to supply the code reading and verification system for automating the validation of winning lottery tickets for a major Gaming and Lottery operator in Bulgaria. 

Using the latest area scan camera technology (mounted onto a transport system provided by Rotech Machines) and its flagship Discovery Multiscan software, the system reads a variety of codes printed on the lottery tickets and passes the data to an external system for verification. If a negative response is received, the lottery ticket is automatically diverted, in real time, so that it can be inspected further offline.

The system fully automates the current manual lottery ticket verification process, saving on labour costs, shortening the verification time back to lottery winners and reducing the business risk due to fraudulent or counterfeit lottery tickets.
