ColorGate to Offer PrintProcessLab

Press release from the issuing company

Starting immediately, ColorGATE will be featuring the new PrintProcessLab (PPL) in its portfolio as the exclusive solution partner of n-art-m GmbH. PPL is a test and simulation system for simplified, accelerated process development in digital industrial inkjet printing. It realistically simulates the printing process of industrial inkjet printing systems and provides many different options for analysis and simulation. Thanks to PPL, it is now possible to simulate and test the functions of digital printing systems, such as continuous operation, printing pitches and speeds, at an early point in time. In addition, different substrates can be thoroughly tested in connection with the print heads used, inks and such process-dependent parameters as drying. Ink and material testing is accelerated and can be done for two- as well as three-dimensional objects.

“The advantages are obvious: elaborate tests and simulations of printing processes and results can be carried out early and independently from an actual printing system with a true-to-scale system. During this time, the printing system can still be under construction or already in use for production purposes. In any case, PPL has been designed to achieve real results,” commented Artur Noll, managing director at n-art-m.

PPL is modular in design so that a wide variety of different digital printing processes can be simulated. It supports the inks, controllers and print heads of the leading manufacturers, e.g. Kyocera and Ricoh print heads, as well as controllers of TTP Meteor. Up to four print heads can be installed at the same time, along with different transport systems with the help of which system-related functions can be simulated or materialrelated tests conducted. As a result, PPL can be constantly adapted to changes in any printer system to be simulated.

“ColorGATE has now added PrintProcessLab to its product portfolio in order to meet the requirements of the developing Industrial Printing market. The fine-tuning processes between the complex parts of an industrial digital printing system cannot be started too soon. Thus, PrintProcessLab from n-art-m and ColorGATE closes a gap in the market and offers developers of printing systems, ink manufacturers and companies who want to use a digital printing system a scalable test and simulation system that minimizes expensive function tests on production systems,” explained Thomas Kirschner, CEO and founder of ColorGATE.

ColorGATE and n-art-m associates will be on hand to answer all your questions on PrintProcessLab and the topic of Industrial Printing at InPrint 2015 in Munich from November 10th to 12th.
