Press release from the issuing company
ROLLING MEADOWS, Illinois - Screen Americas is shining the spotlight at SGIA Expo 2015 on new features and functions designed to make the Screen Truepress Jet W3200UV series a faster and more versatile wide-format inkjet printer.
Presentations in booth #4617, November 4-6 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, will include a new addition to the Screen portfolio that quickly transforms the Truepress Jet W3200UV into a best-in-class flatbed and roll printer. A single UV inkjet printing system is now capable of producing the widest range of display graphics at high speed, from point-of-sale materials and signage to wall coverings, banners and outdoor advertising. Screen also will unveil innovative technologies allowing print providers to take full advantage of the Truepress Jet W3200UV series.
Nonstop, High-Speed Printing
Visitors to SGIA Expo will see the Truepress Jet W3200UV HS equipped with the Roll2Roll system tackling a diverse array of jobs on both sheeted and roll-fed substrates. Able to accommodate rolls up to 126 inches wide, the unit controls the tension as well as the suction area and strength of the vacuum system according to the length and condition of the printing material. This enables consistently stable printing of any roll media, providing continuous high-speed, high-precision output.
The easy-to-use Roll2Roll system can be purchased as a factory-installed option on a new Truepress Jet W3200UV HS or Truepress Jet W3200UV ST or retrofitted to an existing model in the field. Once the flatbed table is locked, the printer effectively converts into roll-fed mode.
Truepress Jet W3200UV Series Can Now Run Three Inks
When it comes to UV inkjet printing, one ink formulation does not fit all. Screen has adopted a customer-friendly approach, giving customers a choice of inks to fit their individual requirements. The family of Truepress ink formulations is not RFID chipped. Inks can be loaded in bulk to deliver the lowest possible cost per print.
Billboard Print Mode Yields One-Fifth More Productivity
A new high-speed print mode using five-pass, bidirectional printing significantly cuts turnaround time for outdoor advertising and other materials intended to be viewed at a distance of more than 16 feet (five meters). With a maximum speed of 1,980.5 square feet (184 square meters) per hour, Billboard mode ups the productivity of the Truepress Jet W3200UV HS by approximately 20 percent compared with the current Express print mode. The clustering of drops prevents artifacts, such as banding, at longer viewing distances.
Super Fine Photo Mode Perfect for High-Definition Promotional Tools
Cosmetic ads requiring ultrahigh-quality printing or any job with small text will benefit from this new 22-pass, unidirectional print mode. The inkjet heads bring out the finest detail in an image while retaining the 14 picoliter drop size.
Loads Up to 165 Pounds
The Truepress Jet W3200UV series can safely support nearly double the payload of the previous version. Thanks to improvements to the vacuum table transfer algorithm, the weight tolerance has increased from the original 88 pounds (40 kg) to 165 pounds (75 kg). Print providers can take on heavier wood, stone and glass at the same time that they improve safety, print quality and job flexibility.
Step and Repeat/Nesting Functionality
Step and repeat functionality on the flatbed machine allows even simpler repeat printing of jobs. The operator can nest the print job in both the printing and stepping direction to fully populate the vacuum table area. Nesting is supported up to eight layers. Repeat settings for the same job can be made on the GUI once RIP computations are finished.
Maintenance Scheduler
Maintenance logs for the printing system can be viewed on the touch panel monitor by day, week or month. These maintenance logs can be shared between different operators. This facilitates the planning of upcoming maintenance and contributes to the design of process schedules that ensure maximum operability.
