Printing Association of Florida Hosts the 2004 Print Management Conference

Press release from the issuing company

May 27, 2004—ORLANDO—Printing Association of Florida (PAF) President and CEO, Michael Streibig, announces that the annual Print Management Conference will be held this year on July 30-31 at the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando - A Loews Hotel. Industry-renowned speakers, the PAF Golf Classic at MetroWest, and the Florida Print Awards dinner are just some of the high points of the event supporting professionals involved in Florida’s largest manufacturing economy, printing. "Our annual Print Management Conference is one of the most important events of the year," Streibig says. "In two days more than 400 members representing the leading forces of the printing industry convene to discuss key issues and trends, as well as to develop strategies for stimulating business and growth in Florida." A key to the Conference’s success, year after year, says Streibig, has been PAF’s focus on combining serious content with plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy networking and social events. In addition, attendees take time to honor the outstanding achievements of fellow PAF members. PAF Golf Classic Kicks-Off the Excitement The two-day conference will kick-off with the PAF Golf Classic, sponsored by xpedx, on Friday, July 30 at 7:30 a.m. The location is Orlando’s premier golf course, MetroWest Golf Club, which was designed by golf master Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and has been voted #1 by readers of Orlando magazine. Casino Night Following the golf classic, members are able to enjoy Orlando before heading to the Casino Night fundraising event scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, July 30 at the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando - A Loews Hotel. This event, sponsored by Mac Papers, will raise donations for Graphics PAC, Florida’s only Political Action Committee dedicated to the Graphic Arts industry. Print Management Conference Sessions The Print Management conference sessions start Saturday, July 31 at 9 a.m., beginning with the Florida Print Industry Summit at Royal Pacific with Ronnie H. Davis, Ph.D., Chief Economist, Printing Industries of America (PIA). Davis will speak on "Stimulating Print Sales – Can it be Done?" This seminar will discuss imperative topics such as print market trends, impact from competition and other media, stimulating print on demand, print effectiveness as an advertising medium and a program to market print in Florida and nationally. Also being featured is a case study on the Virginia Print Initiative, a beta site for overall strategy and program, which will subsequently be rolled out in Florida. Davis will take a look at 2003 print market activities and the new dynamic of print, including "what’s hot and what’s not." Within this new dynamic, Davis will relay the keys to success. Also plan on hearing the outlook for print in the near future, as well as where print fits in the "media pie." Following that session, Jeffrey Hayzlett, Hayzlett & Associates, will lead the "Introduction to The Print Council" session to provide an introductory presentation on the Council, its members, activities, and near-term projects. Hayzlett will provide the audience with an overview of industry trends, areas of opportunity, and buyers’ preferences. Hayzlett will also explain the importance of the Print Council activities to members, most notably its place, according to the Council, as the only business development initiative that influences and promotes the greater use of print. Hayzlett will discuss the Print Council’s role in education, awareness, market development, advocacy and research; and its instrumental place in developing, maintaining, and increasing the market for printed goods. 17th Annual Florida Print Awards Dinner Later in the evening, members will convene for the 17th annual Florida Print Awards dinner reception, where PAF honors companies that have earned the designation of being this year’s Print Awards elite. The "Flamingo" Trophy Awards and Best of Show in each of four divisions, distinguished by company size, will be presented by awards sponsors. The evening’s festivities will conclude in the Florida Print Awards Hall of Winners, where attendees have the opportunity to view all the printed entries.
