Press release from the issuing company
East Sussex-based digital print company Elephant Print and Display, has been shortlisted in the Solutions for Digital category in the Print Solutions Awards for its high-quality and distinctive Member Pack that it produced for the Sussex-based charity, Royal Pavilion & Museums Foundation in Brighton.
The Royal Pavilion Member Pack is now in the final three nominees to win the Solutions for Digital category.
The client wanted a printed item with a special die-cut element to help communicate their brand to its members, patrons, trustees and supporters.
The Brighton Pavilion is an iconic and distinctive building, and Elephant were asked to produce a four page A5 piece, together with a unique folding flap inside the pack that is in the shape of one of the Domes from the building. A challenging feat in itself, as it was vitally important that the finish was clean, crisp and retained the sharp point at the top, which is reflective of the distinctive Dome’s unique features.
Elephant decided to use a 350gsm Silk board and matt laminate substrate for extra durability and stability. The print quality was of premium importance along with the overall appearance of the finished item, which had to stand out.
The job was produced one to view on SRA3+ Pro-Digital Silk board, and then allowed to dry before an over-laminating process was added.
After consultation with the toolmaker, drawings were subsequently produced and a special tool was made for the finishing process. It was of vital importance that the shaped element effect was perfect in every way.
Some 3,000 copies of the Member Packs were then produced and packed suitably, before being despatched to a delighted client.
The Royal Pavilion Member Packs were printed by Elephant using an HP Indigo 3050, with laminating carried out on a Matrix 370, Die-Cutting on a Heidelberg Platen, and the packs were printed on Pro-Digital Silk 350gsm - 28 micron Matt laminated throughout.
Speaking about the Royal Pavilion Member Pack, and its shortlisting in the Print Solutions Awards, Managing Director of Elephant Print and Display, Jason Gadd, stated, “Both the customer and ourselves were delighted with the end result and feedback from the members was excellent. The reaction from the client was that the finished work reflected the stature and quality of The Royal Pavilion. The fact that it has now been shortlisted in the Awards is an added endorsement of its uniqueness and quality of the finished item.”
The Print for Solutions Awards will be held in London at the Café de Paris on 17th November.
