Press release from the issuing company
A range of innovative technologies were demonstrated on the VSI and VLI slitter rewinders in the Rotoflex stand.
St Louis, Missouri USA - Rotoflex, a world leader in inspection, slitting, rewinding and die cutting equipment celebrates success as a result of the Labelexpo Europe event held last week in Brussels, Belgium.
A VLI slitter rewinder anchored the stand entrance, delighting attendees by running unsupported film at groundbreaking speeds up to 610 m/min while delivering consistent, high quality rolls. The extremely versatile VLI can be configured with an inspection system to support a full range of applications and substrates including pressure sensitive labels and tension-sensitive materials.
Adjacent to the VLI was the Rotoflex flagship VSI small footprint slitter rewinder, finishing printed labels with an in-line Nikka Research inspection system. Equipped on both the VSI and VLI machines was the Rotoflex URC 2.0 proprietary control system. Designed for the operator with simple menus, automatic set-up and an intuitive interface, all functions can be monitored from a single screen. Job set-up is quick and with the robust job save/load capability, job-related details are stored and easily recalled for repeat runs.
Also featured on stand was a dedicated terminal showcasing the revolutionary Report Management System (RMS), a new option available with the URC 2.0 control system. Designed by Rotoflex engineers, RMS collects real time production details from multiple finishing machines to a single interface which can be accessed remotely via computer or handheld device. RMS generates a variety of detailed reports on performance variables such as run time, defects, and scrap generation over time, as well as compares outputs of multiple machines. With the simple implementation of a secure wireless router, this information can be delivered and shared in real time, allowing production managers and supervisors access to production data and machine performance information at the touch of a button.
Both VSI and VLI machines on stand were also equipped with biometric (fingerprint) authentication for operator access. This new innovation, also developed by Rotoflex engineering, provides optimal security and identificat
