Adding to its armoury of wide- and super-wide format printers, Hollywood Monster has augmented its capability to print high quality, durable and colour-matched graphics and displays with the purchase of a 2m VUTEk H2000 Pro. Supplied and installed by Shrewsbury-based specialist CMYUK, this is the third EFI platform in which the company has invested in as many years, and enables it to up its daily production onto a broad selection of rigid and roll-fed materials.

An upsurge in demand for jobs printed direct to rigid materials led Hollywood Monster to make the investment into its latest VUTEk printer. Following the win of a major contract with one of the leading high street retailers in the fast-food segment, the company needed to increase its output capabilities onto a variety of sheet-fed substrates and the 2m wide H2000 Pro is the ideal size for ongoing and future application requirements.

Hollywood Monster’s Managing Director, Simon McKenzie, explains: “Our company produces a vast range of jobs up to 5m in width using a broad selection of roll-fed, rigid and textile materials. Although we make full use of our VUTEk GS3250 3.2m combination flat-fed and roll-fed printer, we made the decision to invest in a 2m wide machine primarily to handle board production in this burgeoning display segment.”

Key to the addition of the new VUTEk H2000 Pro is its ability for its workflow to dovetail in with applications being produced on Hollywood Monster’s existing wide-format machines from EFI. All of these printers have been supplied and installed by leading distributor, CMYUK which recently opened comprehensive showroom, demonstration and training facilities in Shrewsbury. 

With precision consistent colour matching needed across jobs and different materials, it was crucial for Hollywood Monster to add a further printer without compromising on accuracy and quality. “We pride ourselves on being able to make sure that results are identical, regardless of VUTEk platform,” states Robin East, Director of CMYUK. “Supplying the right machine is only part of our service offering. The EFI VUTEk H2000 Pro is a modular six-colour 2m wide UV-curable wide-format printer that incorporates seven picolitre UltraDrop technology for precision control and full addressability for each droplet placement. With native JDF connectivity, like others in the VUTEk portfolio, this printer is available with a choice of EFI’s Fiery proServer or Fiery XF DFE (digital front-end), both of which integrate seamlessly with the company’s web-to-print and MIS/ERP programs. In addition, its flat-bed capabilities are boosted with an option for roll-to-roll production, and white ink and clear varnish are available in both single or dual channel configurations.
