Press release from the issuing company
As one of the winners of the Red Dot Award for Product Design 2015, the ROLAND 700 EVOLUTION enjoyed the spotlight at the Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore.
Since it was instituted in 1954, the annual Red Dot Design Award has been regarded as the "Oscar" of the design industry. It rewards creativity, innovation and originality. Companies and individuals are given recognition for distinguishing their products and campaigns by using brilliant designs.
A jury panel selects the winners in three areas: product design, communication design and design concepts. All the winners get to be featured in an exhibit at the Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore.
In 2015, the eye-catching ROLAND 700 EVOLUTION was among the recipients of the Red Dot Award for Product Design. The jury said the "white and curved front elements" of the ROLAND 700 EVOLUTION gave it "clean lines and a visually appealing structure conveying an impression of immaculate order’’.
The ROLAND 700 EVOLUTION was the first sheetfed offset printing press to receive the prestigious award. Its user-friendly touchscreen controls, innovative technologies designed to improve productivity and print quality, and simple and futuristic design, won the nod of the jury after strict screening and close scrutiny.
Like all the other competition entries, its design and purpose were studied in detail and analyzed, with their merits discussed and debated by the jury.
"As a group, we are all very excited Manroland Sheetfed has a ROLAND 700 EVOLUTION featured at the Red Dot Design Museum; this unique facility shows off the latest trends in the international design scene with more than 1,000 award-winning designs from 50 countries on display“ said Ms. Huiying Kang, Managing Director of Manroland Malaysia & Singapore . “This award for Product Design is the result of all the hard work of a lot of people and their commitment to excellence; the ROLAND 700 EVOLUTION has created a new standard in press technology"
The award definitely rewards Manroland Sheetfed’s tireless efforts to come up with high-tech presses and products that are not only useful and efficient but are also attractive to look at.
