TPF–550 Feeder will extend media range, improve productivity and enhance ease of use of the NEXPRESS Platform

Demonstration of enhanced feed capabilities to take place during Graph Expo 2015 in Chicago, Ill, USA (Sept. 13—16) at Kodak booth #823

Rottweil,Germany & Rochester, NY - BDT Media Automation GmbH is pleased to announce that Kodak has adopted the TPF–550 Long Sheet Deep Pile Feeder by BDT for the KODAK NEXPRESS Digital Production Color Press Platform, making Kodak the first manufacturer to implement the TPF–550 Feeder onto a digital press. Kodak will be exhibiting the combined NEXPRESS Press and TPF–550 Feeder at the GRAPH EXPO 15 International in Chicago, Ill, USA from Sept. 13—16, 2015.

The TPF–550 Feeder incorporates the revolutionary patented BDT Tornado technology for media separation, lift and transport. The fully electronic control of the Tornado technology allows for media feed parameters to be stored in the feeder memory and used to automatically configure the unit.

With the new feed capabilities, NEXPRESS Platform users will see enhanced productivity. The TPF–550 Feeder supports the current media range of the NEXPRESS Platform and extends the press capability to feed format lengths up to 39.37”/1000mm for the full range of substrates from 60gsm uncoated to 352gsm coated. The TPF–550 Feeder provides enhanced feeding reliability with problematic media such as light porous or heavy coated stock. Specialty media like plastics, magnetic and thick substrates can also be fed. Job changeover time is significantly reduced due to automation during the setup process.
