Press release from the issuing company
Ahaus, Germany – Segbert GmbH & Co. KG announced today that it has now sold 100 layer palletizer robots to printers in North America. This 100th order was for an MPA palletizer with the VVS Pre-Sorter and will be installed during the second quarter of 2015. Segbert is the North-American and European market leader for variable height palletizers in the printing industry.
“We are very proud that we have achieved this milestone. I would like to thank our partners in the printing industry as well as all our employees here in Ahaus, we could not have done this without them” says Klaus Segbert, Managing Director of the company. “We are aware that the printing business is changing rapidly and while we continuously improve our current products we are also developing new solutions for areas like digital printing and packaging.“
The first-ever Segbert palletizer line in North America was a ZPA that was installed at Quad/Graphics in 2006. That installation served as the foundation for a strong, lasting partnership. Today, Quad/Graphics is the largest Segbert customer worldwide. Both companies work together to continuously improve workflows and equipment. Says Daren Robarge, Quad/Graphics Senior Vice President of Manufacturing: “Through close partnership with Segbert, we are able to make sure that our requirements are part of the continuous improvement of its technology. Segbert’s palletizers meet our needs. They can be installed and production-ready in less than one week, can handle different size bundles and create an orderly, well-constructed pallet of product, and can keep pace with our high-speed equipment.”
In addition to Quad/Graphics, several other leading North American printers, among them Fry Communications and TC Transcontinental Printing, have chosen Segbert for certain of their automation projects in recent years.
Segbert palletizers and stackers are used in more than 500 installations in press rooms and binderies around the globe and can be customized to handle a wide range of printed products like newspapers, retail inserts, magazines, catalogues, loose signatures, logs of signatures, books and book blocks, cartons, etc.
