Graphics of the Americas Crowd Gravitates to Colter & Peterson’s Microcut® Systems

Press release from the issuing company

Paterson, NJ – Three industry-leading versions of the Microcut® automated back gauge control system for paper cutters proved to be the right tonic for Colter & Peterson at the Graphics of the Americas show. By the time the event ended February 28, C&P experienced its most successful run at the Miami Beach venue.

“It was the best-selling event we’ve ever had at GOA. It isn’t the largest show in terms of square-footage, but it presents great network opportunities and we reached agreement on several deals with visitors from Latin and South America,” said Richard Peereboom, Sales Manager of the Latin America region for North America’s largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment.

At GOA, C&P received orders from customers for Microcut COLOR WS, Microcut Plus and Microcut JR.  Peereboom said there was significant interest in the Microtrack II and Microcut B-65 retrofit kits, and discussions are continuing with visitors from the show.

“We enjoyed a lot of booth traffic and the people who we talked with understood the tremendous value Microcut offers. People from Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela purchased these automated programmed systems because they haven’t found anything comparable to it. When you combine the accuracy, reliability, and easy installation of Microcut with the benefits of it needing little maintenance and paying a fraction of what a new paper cutter costs, it made a lot of sense to the buyers.”

Microcut COLOR WS, Plus and JR. are incredibly accurate and efficient, and all systems are adaptable to any brand or size paper cutter ranging from 20-150 inches. It instantly memorizes the cutting sequences as the back gauge automatically positioning itself for each precise cut within 1/64th of an inch.

Peereboom said buyers noted unique benefits that led to sales at GOA.  For example, some customers favored Microcut COLOR WS for its overall versatility and affordability. The 8” wide format touch screen display for quick and simple set up was also appealing to them.

Peereboom indicated others chose Microcut PLUS for its advanced capabilities, including new microcip® and microfacts® features. It comes with a 12” wide color touch screen that is very user friendly.

“The benefit of microcip is that you can upload programs via network connection or USB device direct from your prepress department. In addition to saving valuable time, no additional hardware or software is necessary.”

Operators with smaller shops who use paper cutters less than 37“ selected Microcut JR for its advanced programming options such as label and sheet divide. This allows complicated jobs to be programmed with only a few data entries. For more Microcut info, visit www.papercutters.com.
