Press release from the issuing company
Worcester, UK - Stanford Marsh Limited, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary in business this year, has announced that it acquired Drawing Office Supplies & Photocopying (South Wales) Limited on 2nd February 2015.
Drawing Office Supplies & Photocopying (South Wales) Ltd. (DOS) has been trading since 1964 and has a great deal of synergy with Stanford Marsh. Stanford Marsh primarily purchased the business in order to cement its presence in South Wales and to boost its technical equipment and consumables sales.
The acquisition will bolster DOS’s portfolio to now include Stanford Marsh’s full gamut of technologies such as CAD software sales, training and support (www.cadspec.co.uk), 3D print (www.smg3d.co.uk) and graphics/signage printers (www.smgg.co.uk) alongside the traditional wide-format media, ink and printer sales for the CAD/technical market.
On the recent acquisition, Adrian Painter, Director of Stanford Marsh Group, comments: “We are really pleased to welcome DOS into the Stanford Marsh Group and look forward to working alongside the staff and customers.
“Like many of our recent acquisitions, the principals at DOS were looking to retire, yet quite rightly had concerns over the long-term welfare of their loyal staff. We believe – thanks to our broad portfolio offering, outstanding work ethic and exceptional team spirit – that we can continue the great tradition of DOS whilst further building the customer and staff experience.”
Painter adds: “Following the acquisition of 3-Ways Design in 2008, we gained a base in Neath offering CAD training, sales and support. However, it’s a great benefit to have an additional office in South Wales to boost our consumable supplies, wide-format equipment and 3D print sales, as well as to offer local engineering service and support for plotter repairs.
“With offices now in both Neath and Bridgend, we are well placed to support customers throughout the South Wales region with a complete design-office solution.”
In terms of the timing of the acquisition, Adrian Painter concludes: “The timing was just right – not just for DOS, but also for Stanford Marsh. We’d recently employed Dafydd Church as Sales Account Manager, covering South Wales on wide-format technical equipment sales and this acquisition will provide Dafydd with plenty of work for several months to come! We are also looking to appoint an additional field sales representative within the region. These appointments demonstrate our intent to the DOS staff and customers that Stanford Marsh is here for the long-term.”
