DUSSELDORF, Germany--May 5, 2004-- Kodak Versamark, Inc., a world leader in high-speed, 100% variable data printing and a wholly owned subsidiary of Eastman Kodak Company, and EFI, the world leader in digital imaging and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing, today introduced the KODAK VERSAMARK CS600 System Controller for high-speed, document production environments. Powered by EFI's Fiery QX9000 technology, the CS600 drives the KODAK VERSAMARK V-Series Printing Systems at up to 2000 pages per minute. The CS600 is paired with the newest V-series system, the VX5000e, which incorporates Kodak Versamark's high-resolution inkjet technology and will be will be on exhibit at the drupa trade show in Hall 5, Stand B24. A collaborative development program between EFI and Kodak Versamark, the CS600 system controller utilizes industry-standard workflows and represents an innovation in Digital Front End (DFE) technology that makes the production of high-quality, high-volume, full color documents faster and easier, while providing award-winning Fiery workflow tools. The CS600 delivers integrated color management, support for a wide range of standard and legacy data formats and a fully scalable architecture to meet the needs of demanding customers. EFI's flexible and open architecture allows users to choose any authoring tool to create static and variable elements. EFI offers a best of breed VDP implementation featuring industry standard PPML. Additional productivity-enhancing tools maximize throughput and streamline VDP workflow.
