Living nonwovens – Technocell Vlies’s commitment to the market and its customers

Press release from the issuing company

Osnabrück - 'Living nonwovens' is the new brand promise, with which Technocell Vlies - one of the Osnabrück-based Felix Schoeller Group’s business units - made its appearance at this year’s Heimtextil show. The full-range supplier took the opportunity to present to a wide audience its range of new inline-coated nonwovens: MetaTechc Evolution, nonwoven lining papers – which have fire classifications – and nonwovens for digital printing applications.

Technocell Vlies, which has had a foothold in the market for over four years, received acclaim as a full-range supplier. Its extensive product portfolio includes both standard uncoated nonwovens, coated nonwovens and nonwoven lining papers. Nonwovens for digital wallpaper printing are distributed by Felix Schoeller’s Digital Media Business Unit, but they were also on display at Technocell Vlies’s stand and practical examples of them in use could be seen in Hall 4.

The new products on show were the inline-coated nonwovens MetaTechc in the Evolution series, which are coated on the paper machine. This one-stage production process results in an outstanding cost position. MetaTechc nonwovens are highly opaque, have excellent dimensional stability and are available in grammages starting at 75 g/m².

LinerTech is another newcomer to Technocell Vlies’s portfolio. These nonwoven lining papers are certified under DIN EN 13501, the European fire classification standard for building products and fall in the B-s1-d0 class. They are flame retardant and suitable for all interior applications. There is no danger of smoke production or burning droplets. LinerTech also has very good conversion characteristics, high dimensional stability and first-class paintability with regard to ink absorption, ink holdout and colour image.

Nonwovens for digital printing are a new development that cut across all the Schoeller Group’s business units. They are marketed as INSPIRE wallpapers and were trialled and demonstrated live on a digital printing machine at the show. INSPIRE wallpapers are coated nonwovens with a grammage of 130 g/m². They are available as a matt or satin finish. They are suitable for toner printing and all common large-format printing applications.

Georg Haggenmüller, Executive Vice President of Technocell Vlies, was thrilled with the outcome of the show: “Heimtextil 2015 was a highly successful show for Technocell Vlies. Although the atmosphere at the show was overshadowed by events in Russia and Ukraine, we know how to place our products and messages. Technocell Vlies’s stand with its new brand promise received positive feedback from all our visitors. We are very happy with the way everything went.”
