Westmont, Illinois — Juerg Spittler has been promoted to Vice President of Business Development, Sheetfed Operations, at MAN Roland Inc. He previously served as Assistant Vice President of Sheetfed Operations. “In his new role, Juerg will be spending a significant amount of time in the field, supporting our regional businesses and our local sheetfed sales teams,” said Eric Belcher, COO of Sheetfed Operations, in announcing the promotion. The holder of degrees in mechanical engineering and business administration, Spittler began his graphic arts career as a mechanical engineer for a Swiss manufacturer of large newspaper presses. He switched to the machine tool industry for seven years, working as a sales engineer for car production systems used by leading manufacturers in the U.S., Germany, France, South Korea and China. In May 1998, Spittler rejoined the graphic arts, heading and restructuring the sales support operations of MAN Roland’s operation in Switzerland. Three years later, he transferred to MAN Roland North America as an Assistant Vice President. “The most important part of my job is making sure that MAN Roland has an open and honest approach to North American printers and that the graphic arts industry stays healthy and profitable,” he says. “It’s very rewarding to see how MAN Roland presses are helping our customers grow their businesses.”
