Press release from the issuing company
Leading mailroom equipment, solutions and maintenance provider, Totalpost Services Plc has purchased Mailing and Mechanisation UK Ltd as part of a major expansion plan.
This is a significant move for Totalpost which will enable them to supply a wider range of mailroom and mailing equipment to their existing and new customer base.
Mailing and Mechanisation UK, established in 1985, is a manufacturer of specialised and bespoke mailroom automation and insertion systems. The company adds value by taking brand new insertion machine chassis’s and adding all wiring, electronics and operational systems of their own manufacture. The result is robust and highly reliable mail insertion machinery that is recognised worldwide.
Built around the requirements of the customer by the specialised manufacture team at Mailing and Mechanisation, these machines are tested to an extremely high standard to ensure that very little, if any, third party maintenance is required. These systems are known for their reliability which has been proven worldwide, even within emerging economic regions where other equipment of this type has failed frequently because of over complicated operating systems that are not rugged enough and overly complex for local conditions. The latest machines and systems offer extremely good value, are totally reliable and are now accepted as one of the most flexible machines on the market.
Established and run by a group of dedicated engineers who will be retained as part of the team including the founder, Dave Kolb who will remain for a significant time to permit a smooth handover to the new senior management and will continue to be available in a consultancy role in the future. The equipment ranges from feeders through to complex mailing systems and, the team also builds flexible paper management systems and solutions built specifically around the needs of the customer.
This acquisition will bolster Totalpost’s position as a leading mailroom manufacturer and supplier. Totalpost provides a full suite of incoming and outgoing mail and print solutions including franking machines, copiers, and returned mail handling. Additionally they provide X-Ray security systems for screening mailroom letters and parcels and also for baggage, cargo and people.
The strength of Mailing and Mechanisation UK lies in their ability to build immensely personalised inserting products for specific applications at a fraction of the cost of equivalent products. Because the systems are completely customised they can be built to deal with any non standard scenario for example, for handling disguised mail, or for a range of formats, document sizes and specialised processes.
Speaking about the acquisition, managing director of Totalpost, David Hymers, who led the deal says: “We are pleased that this highly respected company has joined the Totalpost group, although they will continue to trade under the powerful brand of Mailing and Mechanisation . Their approach of high quality manufacturing and working to the needs of the customer fits extremely well with Totalpost’s ethos of providing best of breed equipment coupled with exceptional customer service.
“The acquisition of this business will allow us to expand our already successful complete incoming and outgoing mailroom service incorporating mail preparation and handling. This deal is part of major growth plans that we have for the business and is a great start to 2015.”
