Press release from the issuing company
First-ever GMG booth at SGIA Expo to help wide format printers achieve exceptional quality and repeatable colors, process work automatically and produce cost-effective accurate proofs.
Tuebingen – GMG, the leading developer and supplier of high-end color management and workflow software solutions, demonstrates products specifically aimed to help wide format printers at booth 3967 during SGIA Expo, October 22-24, 2014 in Las Vegas, NV.
“GMG products have been adopted by many wide format printers who are looking for workflows that specifically address the complexities of wide format. Meanwhile, GMG continues to update all our software to adapt to the changing nature of the industry. For example, the GMG products have been extended to work even better for high volume flatbed production. They have also been updated to be more familiar for those commercial printers who have recently invested in wide format and are more used to commercial workflows and terms,” notes Bart Fret, GMG Director of Sales, Wide Format. “We are also finding an escalation in the number of wide format printers who are investing in color proofing systems. They do not want to tie up their production inkjet systems for one-up proof samples, so they are using GMG proofing systems to accurately represent color as well as the visual aspect of the larger presses.”
GMG customers speak out
Wide format companies throughout the US and Canada have installed GMG solutions to help with the quality and productivity of their work. Statements from a handful of them include:
"Having multiple wide format printers from various manufacturers and demanding customers we had many challenges managing our production. Brand standards and overall color consistency is key to our success and GMG really made achieving our color standards much easier, and repeatable time after time. Their tools allow us to achieve a print ready file in a fast and consistent way while identifying potential color and print issues at an early stage. GMG has proven to be a real partner, doing whatever it takes to ensure that we get the benefits we are looking for.”
John Dolan - President & CEO, Craftsmen Industries, St Charles, MO
“We love the color quality of GMG and its ability to match color across our digital platforms and offset processes. Color management with GMG is much easier and more accurate than other systems we have used.”
Mark Long - General Manager Digital Division, InnoMark Communications, Dayton, OH
“By partnering with GMG, we have the tools necessary to provide color accuracy for our clients in the global market. With the variety of media that our clients are using, such as print, web, large format, grand format, GMG’s ColorServer along with their other suite of tools, allows for the color transformations necessary to maintain brand integrity. Combine that with the service and support they provide and you really feel like you have a partner in your company’s color management.”
Mike Connelly - Director of Premedia, Imtech Graphics, Carlstadt, NJ
“GMG has been great for DT Print Solutions! The ink savings realized in our last quarter paid for the investment outright and everything we print looks better and prints faster. Thank you GMG!”
Dan Thompson – Owner, DT Print Solutions, Toronto, ON, Canada
“We have been amazed at how simple and efficient the workflow is, and that all colour management can be done the same way for every device in one central server configuration.
We have been using GMG for about 18 months and it has steadily been enhanced with new functionality over that period of time. The Support people are great and respond promptly and we are often being “mined” for new ideas to improve the functionality. I think that anyone involved in Digital Print, especially with multiple devices, would greatly benefit from using GMG software.”
Andy Rideout – Prepress Supervisor, Eclipse Imaging, Burlington, ON, Canada
GMG solutions will not only be present at the GMG booth, but also in the HP (#2045 and #2059) and Mimaki USA (#3158 and #3259) booths.
“We look forward to showing attendees how we can help them both with automated workflow solutions, as well as basic color management,” says Fret. “Good prepress software—not specifically tied to one machine or another—really makes a difference for wide format printers.”
