  • New characterization datasets for managing specified print conditions.
  • New standards in lighting, viewing and measurement.
  • M1 measurement standards and their impact on G7, GRACoL and SWOP.
  • Getting the most from G7 in multiple print processes.
  • The keys to ensuring a positive print experience by the creative production professional.
  • The six stages of an integrated media production workflow.

“The best practices defined in the Guide to Print Production are developed through the involvement of our many active committees and working groups,” commented David Steinhardt, IDEAlliance President & CEO. “This publication is the culmination of the collaboration of many of our industry’s most talented professionals. We thank them for their tireless efforts. This is the best in our industry!”

About This Guide
This booklet is an update to the Guide to Print Production V12.0, a booklet about publishing and printing, and the proper procedures and suggested techniques for reproducing a creative concept—image or information—on a targeted output media. This process can involve large numbers of people and complex workflows with multiple media output options, such as press, monitor, phone, etc., or the simple output of one person to a single output device, such as a personal printer. In all cases there is a preferred methodology that should become the required process. Today, there is a proper method for reproducing content for whatever targeted output the content creator envisioned. The mission of this guide is to describe that proper procedure.

The guide is now available for purchase in single print editions or in bulk, or more details can be found at www.idealliance.org/products/guide-print-production-13. For questions, contact Steve Bonoff at 952.896.1908 or email [email protected].
