Right mix works for Colter & Peterson at Graph Expo

Press release from the issuing company

Paterson, NJ – Colter & Peterson’s new technology offerings at Graph Expo in Chicago were spot-on for the second consecutive year. North America’s largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment wrote orders for two industry-leading precision cut machines and experienced tremendous interest for the two new Microcut® automated back gauge control systems being featured at the Sept. 28-October 1 show.

“The Saber® X15 paper cutter that we demonstrated in our booth has a new home with a printer in Jacksonville, Florida, and while talking with another printer from Kansas about Microcut, we reached an agreement where they bought one of our 30” inch Prism® paper cutters,” remarked Bruce Peterson, President of C&P www.papercutters.com.

“Microcut continues to impress many people and the two new programs we featured connected with a lot of the people who visited the booth. Despite the light crowd on the final day and some people experiencing travel problems with the Chicago airports situation, Graph Expo was another successful show for us.”

The Saber X15 paper cutter on the floor at Graph Expo included a Microcut 15” touch screen.  Manufactured to ISO-9001 standards, the 45” cutter is in high demand for many reasons including automatic knife adjustment, a new hydraulic system, and cut optimization.

The addition of Microcut COLOR WS and Microtrack II at Graph Expo gives Colter & Peterson four distinct versions of the automated back gauge control system. These cost-effective retrofit programs provide options for any size operation at a fraction of the cost of a new paper cutter. They can be installed on any size brand cutter from 20-150 inches, and lets users recall cutting sequences so the back gauge automatically positions itself to deliver cuts within 1/64th of an inch.

Microcut COLOR WS utilizes the newest technology and a computer guidance system to locate the precise position for a faster and more accurate cut. The 8” wide format touch screen display saves the operator time by making set-up quick and simple. The new Microtrack II is very productive and highly accurate. It offers three programming guide options - Manual, Program, or Automatic - and alerts the operator when the back gauge is properly positioned.

“We were peppered with a lot of questions about the B-65 paper cutter/clamp control system that we also featured at Graph Expo. It’s a simple solution that updates any flywheel cyclical paper cutting machine to current standards with new technology, including Microcut PLUS WS,” added Peterson. “It also led to a discussion about Microcut JR, which is a great choice for shops using smaller cutters. Microcut JR is designed specifically for cutters 37” or less, and before long we had a buyer for one of our 30” Prism cutters.”

Colter & Peterson will put the spotlight on large format capabilities later this month at the SGIA Expo (booth #4016), which is scheduled for October 22-24 in Las Vegas.
