Featured Plate Technologies the Presstek Booth (# 3613):

Presstek GemPlate^™: 

Presstek will introduce GemPlate, its open platform thermal plate, to the US market at Graph Expo. After imaging, the eco-friendly GemPlate runs through a low cost, low maintenance cleaning unit that utilizes a pH neutral biodegradable solution. No additional steps are required before mounting GemPlates on press.  Financial and environmental benefits are extended even further with low replenishment rates and a long bath life.

Rated for up to 100,000 impressions, GemPlate is engineered to run on a full range of sheetfed and web press platforms. Customers using GemPlate have experienced excellent on press performance, high solvent resistance, wide press latitude and compatibility with a broad range of fountain solutions and additives. 

Presstek Zahara™ Waterless Plates:
The Zahara plate is Presstek’s thermal CTP plate engineered for sheetfed and narrow web waterless presses. Compatible with standard offset and UV printing, Zahara is suited for print shops running a Codimag, KBA Genius 52 UV, KBA Rapida UV, Heidelberg SM 74 CD in addition to many other models. Zahara is ideal for small, half- and mid-size sheet formats, labels, packaging, and plastic cards. 

Rated for up to 100,000 impressions, Zahara simplifies the platemaking process right out of the box. There is no cover film to remove, and Zahara can be imaged on any 830mn thermal CTP system. Once imaged, a simple rinse with water in the user’s existing processor is all that’s needed.  For current waterless press owners, the cost, care, maintenance, messiness, and final disposal of chemistry based systems disappears. Zahara is the industry’s only true eco-friendly plate for waterless press platforms and has seen excellent success across the US and Europe in beta tests.

Presstek JT™ Direct Inkjet Plate:
Presstek’s JT aluminum plate is designed for imaging on Epson^® inkjet printers with standard ink.  JT enables for a low-cost, easy-to-use CTP solution with an extremely small footprint. After imaging, plates go directly to press for impressions of 5,000 or less, and baking in a standard oven for impressions between 5,000 and 20,000.  Presstek will be imaging the JT plate with an Epson 3880 inkjet printer in the booth and offering bundle packages throughout the show.

Presstek DI Digital Offset Technology in the Booth:
Presstek 52DI^®: 

Also being demonstrated in the booth is a Presstek 52DI digital offset 4-color 2-page landscape format press. The press is Certified Pre-Owned and been factory refurbished to original specifications, passing Presstek’s comprehensive certification process. New and Certified Pre-Owned DI presses are available in 4- to 6-color models with aqueous coating optional on select models. See live chemistry-free streamlined platemaking in the Presstek booth on two CTP systems.  Presstek’s chemistry-free Freedom Pro plate is being imaged on a Certified Pre-Owned Vector FL52, an affordable 2-page thermal platemaking system for small commercial, in-plant and quick printers. Presstek’s JT plate is being imaged on Epson 3880 inkjet printer, a highly affordable system providing simple, low page cost production on single color, 2-color and 4-color applications.
