EYSINS, SWITZERLAND - Kodak has upgraded its KODAK SMARTBOARD Document Mastering Software to bring customers greater document control and flexibility. Designed to support the KODAK DIGIMASTER Digital Production System, SMARTBOARD 7.0 enables simple setup for complex jobs and increased efficiency for re-prints due to complete job ticketing and make-ready functionality. SMARTBOARD Software, which can now be installed on WINDOWS OS v7 or 8, also works in conjunction with ADOBE ACROBAT Software 10 and 11. Users can now set up job tickets, store them in PDF format, create tabs and assign page-level features such as inserts and paper substitutions.
“Competitive pressures are forcing customers to deliver more complex and higher value digital print production jobs with fewer resources,” said Greg Gresock, WW Electrophotographic Printing Solutions Marketing Director, Eastman Kodak Company. “The changes we made to our SMARTBOARD Software enable organizations to easily edit, manage, manipulate, store and move documents more efficiently, reducing the time and effort needed to accomplish specific jobs.”
"The new KODAK SMARTBOARD 7.0 Software allows our operations to use the latest in Adobe technology while keeping the familiar and easy-to-use interface for submitting jobs to our DIGIMASTER EX110,” said Dawn Joseph, President, Make An Impression, Inc., a beta customer. “Having compatibility with ACROBAT v11 brings all our PCs up to the latest operating systems and software. And the quick installation had us up and running in just a few minutes.”
SMARTBOARD 7.0 delivers enhanced automation features through its integration and local processing, allowing printers to get the most out of their digital printing business operations. Increased production volume is also possible by using common job templates that reduce make-ready time. Printers who utilize SMARTBOARD Document Mastering Software experience the following benefits:
Rochester Software Associates (RSA), a long term Kodak partner, offers two solutions that extend SMARTBOARD Software support to most production printers. Both TicketMe and QDirect (output manager) receive SMARTBOARD Software files and produce ticketed print jobs for printers other than the DIGIMASTER System. This enables customers to use the SMARTBOARD Solution as the primary workflow for all printers in the print center.
SMARTBOARD 7.0 is available currently to customers worldwide.
