Press release from the issuing company
Paterson, NJ – Having learned from its tremendous success at last year’s Print show, Colter & Peterson (www.papercutters.com) returns to Chicago and will focus efforts on new technology at Graph Expo. North America’s largest independent distributor of paper cutters and paper handling equipment has a dynamic 1-2 punch awaiting visitors to booth #3617 at McCormick Place from September 28-October 1.
C&P will feature its world class Saber® 116cm (“45) X15 paper cutter and four powerful versions of Microcut®, the automated back gauge control system, as well as the B-65 control system. Two newer programs, the Microcut COLOR WS and Microtrack II, will complement the popular and reliable Microcut PLUS WS and Microcut JR. Offering affordable, game-changing back-end options for any size operation, there is little question why Microcut is approaching 35,000 installations in North America.
“Chicago was a very important and pivotal show for us a year ago. We’re hoping lightning strikes two years in a row,” commented Bruce Peterson, President of C&P. “Our Saber line continues to do very well and is experiencing high demand. Microcut is a terrific value when you consider the retrofit system costs a fraction of the price for a brand new paper cutter. The new technology each employs explains why they are in such high demand in the marketplace.”
The Saber X15 unit being demonstrated at Graph Expo is a rugged and robust performer. Built to ISO-9001 standards, it sports automatic knife adjustment, an impressive hydraulic system and cut optimization, a Microcut 15-inch touch screen and the availability of automatic waste removal.
Peterson explained that each Microcut system is automated and flexible and can be installed on any brand cutter between 20-150 inches. It gives the user the ability to store cutting sequences so the back gauge automatically positions itself for each individual cut within 1/64th of an inch. Recently upgraded features include bright digital read out displays and easy conversion from centimeters and millimeters to inches.
The new Microcut COLOR WS relies on the latest technology with a computer guidance system to find the correct position movement faster and more accurately. An 8” wide format touch screen display provides user-friendly support so the operator can simply and quickly complete set-up.
The new Microtrack II offers three options to increase the accuracy and productivity of manually operated paper cutters. The cost effective digital display and programming guide offers separate Manual, Program, and Automatic modes and provides a visual alert for the operator when the back gauge is properly positioned.
The B-65 paper cutter/clamp control system is a turnkey solution that brings any flywheel cyclical paper cutting machine up to current standards with the newest technology. It requires installation of Microcut PLUS WS for operator interface, with a 12” wide format touch screen that includes the new microcip® and microfacts® features. This system allows programs to be uploaded from a network connection with a USB device using 3/4 files. No additional hardware or software is needed.
Microcut JR is a solid solution for smaller shops that are using paper cutters 37” or less. It comes complete with advanced programming options such as label and sheet divide, which allows complicated jobs to be programmed with only a few necessary data entries.
