IPA Technical Seminar to Explore Integrated Workflow

(April 20, 2004) In addition to new testing and reporting procedures, IPA, The Association of Graphic Solutions Providers, announced that 19 vendors will participate in the 2004 IPA Color Proofing RoundUP, being held in conjunction with the IPA Technical Seminar. June 8-10 in Chicago. New this year to the RoundUP-Complete test results and an in-depth feature comparison of each proofing device will be made public at the conclusion of the Color Proofing RoundUP. With a focus on the user, the RoundUP will provide information that will help graphic solutions providers systematically compare color proofing equipment. Sessions include in-depth discussion and user experience in the areas of color management, digital asset management, PDF/X, JDF, remote proofing, data storage, and job tracking. Attendees will have the unique experience of visiting the Workflow Exhibit where they can talk to vendors and get hands-on experience with tools that will help them develop an integrated workflow. In addition, the IPA drupa team will share their first-hand experiences of new developments and trends shown at drupa. The final day of this comprehensive program will feature a "Digital Realities Tour," hosted by a partnership of IPA, DDAP, and SWOP. In addition to hearing presentations by leading industry experts focusing on PDF/X, including Linda Manes Goodwin, Manes, Goodwin and Associates; Michael Rodriquez and Eric Wood, R.R. Donnelley; Erik Cullins, Time, Inc.; and Alan Darling, Vio; attendees will be able to tour a state-of-the-art resource center that focuses on workflow efficiencies in a wide range of print production environments.
