Call for Entries: The Robert F. Reed Technology Medal

Press release from the issuing company

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Printing Industries of America is seeking to honor an outstanding engineer, scientist, inventor, or researcher in the graphic communications industry with the 2014 Robert F. Reed Technology Medal.

Established in 1974, the Reed Technology Medal perpetuates the memory of Robert F. Reed (1905–1973), “Dean of Lithography,” whose contributions to the understanding of lithographic processes and materials were perhaps the most significant and important made by any man of his time.

Previous recipients of this respected award include Dr. William J. Ray, Nth Degree Technologies Worldwide; Dr. Hadi Mahabadi, Xerox; and  Ghilad Dziesietnik, EFI, Inc.

Nominations are judged by a small committee of past Reed Medal recipients and representatives of Printing Industries of America’s Ben Franklin Honor Society. The recipient is presented with an engraved and die-struck bronze medal in front of an impressive audience of academic educators, researchers, and other industry professionals at the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA) Annual Technical Conference, March 22–25, 2015, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
