FESPA Affirms Commitment to China with Presence at APPP Expo

Press release from the issuing company

FESPA China shows 30% growth in first year since launch

FESPA is signalling its commitment to the Asia region ahead of FESPA China 2014, 19-21 November 2014 with a presence at the advertising and sign technology event APPP Expo, 3-6 July 2014 in Shanghai. At the exhibition, FESPA - together with its Chinese member association and FESPA China partner CSGIA - aims to develop relationships within the Chinese advertising and signage community and meet with companies to discuss the forthcoming FESPA China 2014 event.

FESPA expanded its global event portfolio last year with the launch of the inaugural FESPA China 2013 in Shanghai, achieving its objective of attracting major international digital technology manufacturers to the established CSGIA screen printing event.

FESPA China 2014 is already 30% bigger than the 2013 event, highlighting the demand for an event like FESPA to showcase leading players and technologies in wide format print, including screen, digital and textile.

FESPA China will take place in Guangzhou this year, a move which is expected to attract a larger number of visitors from Southern China, in addition to the audience from last year's Shanghai event.

Nigel Steffens, FESPA Board Advisor, comments: "With the launch of FESPA China we wanted to use FESPA's global reputation to grow the existing CSGIA event and add a new dimension by attracting major digital players looking for a platform to do business with Chinese printers. In recent years, China has seen a marked growth in digital printing, so by bringing the industry leaders to the region, we can help nurture and educate local printers about the digital opportunity.

"Our inaugural event illustrated the importance of digital printing to the future of the Chinese printing industry with 36% of visitors confirming an interest in digital, in addition to their traditional focus on the screen process. We also saw a noticeable increase in Chinese visitors to our most recent European show, FESPA Digital, which took place in Munich, Germany in May. Over 100 Chinese printers attended the Digital event, double the number that attended the last FESPA Digital in Hamburg, 2010. This rise affirms our perceptions about the trends in the Chinese market and demonstrates the escalating demand among leading printers in China for expert insights into developments in digital."

An important focus of all FESPA events is education and knowledge share, and FESPA China 2014 will be no different. 12% of visitors to FESPA China 2013 stated that seminars were the key reason for attending the event, emphasising the appetite in China for guidance and best practice. FESPA China 2014 will again bring seminars and educational features, using key industry speakers to help present new opportunities and show how printers can grow their businesses.

Nigel Steffens continues: "FESPA China 2014 is a great opportunity for Chinese printers, and those from neighbouring countries, to visit and see the latest applications and technologies, as well as  hearing from leading industry players in the screen and digital markets. At APPP Expo we look forward to meeting with prospective visitors and exhibitors to provide them with insights into what they can expect from the FESPA China event in November 2014."
