April 13, 2004 -- Kustom Group announces the development of it's Strike-Thru Matte OPV-Gloss Coating System. Strike-Thru allows a litho printer to apply a matte opv and a gloss coating to achieve both finishes with one pass through the press. You can achieve a 40 to 50 point gloss contrast on a good coated sheet of paper. This is done with a litho matte opv and a flood aqueous coating. The process eliminates the need for undercutting blankets and other registration problems. It also eliminates the problem of marking or scuffing of the matte opv since it is protected by the gloss coating.
