Chicago, IL - Sleepeck Printing Company, which ranks among today’s 100 top private commercial printers across the country, will celebrate its 100 year anniversary on August 4, 2004. Michael W. Sleepeck, President and CEO of the company, assumed the position in 1989, making him the third-generation leader of the company. Mr. Sleepeck attributes the long-term success of the company to its “customer first” approach to integrating strategy, service, and production. “Our clients have complete trust in us producing their projects, some of our clients have been with us for over 40 years,” said Sleepeck.
When the company was founded in 1904, the pressroom consisted of nothing more than one press, a cutter, a stitcher, and a skeleton of a composing room. Located in Bellwood, IL, the facility now runs at the highest level of technology with a total of seven presses. The prepress department is digital with computer-to-plate capabilities, as well as, the ability to process a variety of file types. With a web offset division, in Dixon, IL, complete with eight presses with in-line finishing capabilities, the company is truly a one stop shop for commercial printing. “It’s really exciting to be celebrating such a special anniversary; we are looking forward into the future, and plan on being around for another 100 years. I contribute our success to our loyal customers and employees,” exclaims Sleepeck.
