IDEAlliance and Printing Industries Alliance Announce 2014 Luminaire Awards Honorees

IDEAlliance® and Printing Industries Alliance have announced the 2014 Luminaire Awards honorees, recognizing five outstanding performers in advertising, publishing, printing, and integrated media. One Franklin Award for Distinguished Service and five Luminaire Awards will be presented during the newly combined Franklin Luminaire Awards event honoring the Best in Communications, taking place September 17, 2014 at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers, New York, NY. 

The Luminaire Awards, for 25 years, has honored those who represent the fervor of commitment and inspiration in media production, presented by IDEAlliance through its charitable arm, the Digital Enterprise Education & Research (DEER) Foundation. In recognition of their positive influence, creative excellence, and personal dedication within graphic communications, the Luminaire Awards recognizes outstanding achievements by media production leaders. 

The 2014 Luminaire Award Honorees are:

  • Elaine Barker, Director of Operations, JWT NY
  • Bonnie Blake, Clinical Assistant Professor, New York University
  • Gena Kelly, Vice President of Manufacturing, Condé Nast
  • Benjamin Palmer, Co-Founder & Chairman, The Barbarian Group
  • John Puterbaugh, EVP & Chief Digital Officer, Nellymoser, a Division of Brown Printing

“The class of 2014 continues the long tradition of the Luminaire Awards recognizing the leaders among us,” said Laura C. Reid, Vice President of Production, Hearst Magazines, Board Chair of IDEAlliance, and Co-Chair of the 2014 Franklin Luminaire Awards event. Adam Avrick, President, Design Distributors, Inc., Printing Industries Alliance Board Member, and event Co-Chair commented, “With the combining of the Franklin and Luminaire awards events, we solidify the legacy of both programs so we may continue to honor those professionals whose achievements and contributions move our industry forward.”   

A fundraiser for students in graphic communications, proceeds from the Franklin Luminaire Awards support the next generation of media professionals, offering student scholarships through the Graphic Communications Scholarship Foundation (GCSF). The Franklin Award for Distinguished Service honoree will be announced in the near future.
