(January 08, 2009) Polestar has appointed Karen Hardy to the newly created role of Purchasing Director as it increases its focus on purchasing initiatives to deliver savings and efficiencies across the Group.

Previously Purchasing Manager, Karen will be responsible for developing Polestar’s successful strategic supplier partnerships and will lead the site-based cross-function teams. Materials, utilities, transport and capital expenditure all fall within the purchasing remit.

Polestar Commercial Director Chris Barker says: “The effectiveness of Polestar’s purchasing is critical to the group and I am delighted to appoint someone of Karen’s calibre to manage it.”

Karen joined the Group in 2004 from the automotive / electronics sector.
