PRIMIR 2014 Summer Meeting to reveal vision of evolving printing industry

Press release from the issuing company

Program Theme Explores "Print’s Evolution—Changing Markets, Firms, Technologies and Applications"

Reston, VA - PRIMIR, the Print Industries Market Information and Research Organization, the research arm of NPES, announced its Summer Meeting to be held July 21-23, 2014 at the DoubleTree Downtown-Lakeside Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio.

Themed “Print’s Evolution—Changing Markets, Firms, Technologies and Applications,” the PRIMIR 2014 Summer Meeting will be packed with data and content from two new PRIMIR studies. “Tag & Label Printing Trends” will be addressed by Jennifer Dochstader and David Walsh, Founding Partners of LPC. Both will share a current overview of the evolving North American tag and label marketplace including: market sizing and forecast data, market trends, brand owner insights, print process trends, sustainability, and much more.

Another timely new PRIMIR study presentation, “Print Applications: Revenues, Processes and Run Lengths in Commercial Printing, will feature findings from I.T. Strategies by Mark Hanley, President. This essential research focuses on changing marketing and advertising applications such as: catalogs, brochures/pamphlets, inserts, direct mail, and coupons. PRIMIR attendees will gain historical statistics for 2010 and 2012, and forecasts to 2017 for commercial printer revenues. Print processes and shifts, as well as run lengths by application will also be revealed. Print buyer/brand owner perspectives also provide insights into changing needs, which ultimately drive shifts in run lengths and/or print process.

As firms in the print value chain attempt to comprehend and adapt to the evolving industry, many are looking beyond traditional print to bolster revenues. Fulfilling that need, this PRIMIR program also includes an engaging discussion with Don Carli, Founder & CEO of Nima Hunter on “Functional Printing, Printed Electronics, Active/Intelligent Packaging & Sustainability.”

Other aspects of the meeting include a panel discussion featuring local printing executives who will share their perspectives on “The Evolving Print Firm,” and a tour of a local package printing establishment.

PRIMIR meetings are conducted in a dynamic interactive forum with industry managers and experts from across the graphic communications industry. A signature component of every PRIMIR meeting is time on the program for members to take part in sessions to weigh in on, and confer about current and future PRIMIR research studies.

According to Frances Cicogna, Manager, Product Marketing, Canon USA Inc., “PRIMIR research identifies early market trends and provides essential guidance, to position our organization for imminent opportunities and challenges. By attending these meetings and actively participating in the research process, I can be assured that my company’s questions are addressed in future PRIMIR research.”
