ATLANTA, Ga. – Sponsorships for the 2015 TAPPI Centennial Celebration recognizing the 100th Anniversary of TAPPI have reached nearly $650,000 or almost half of the goal set of $1.5 million. TAPPI’s Centennial Celebration Committee helped jumpstart the fundraising initiative that included over 30 volunteers. The TAPPI Centennial Celebration features a year-long series of outreach events and educational offerings showcasing the proud history and promising future of the global pulp, paper and packaging industry.
“We’re very pleased with the level of sponsorship support received to date for the 2015 TAPPI Centennial Celebration,” notes Larry N. Montague, TAPPI President and CEO. “The sponsorships provide the financial support enabling TAPPI to offer a variety of impactful outreach events and educational opportunities that will spread the great story we as an industry have to tell. The yearlong series of events will honor the industry’s extremely proud past as well as highlight a promising and exciting future.”
Outreach activities include a wide range of items and events including an online calendar highlighting innovations in the industry on each day. A coffee table book “Celebrating a Century of Achievement,” local PIMA and TAPPI section and student chapter events, a student competition and much more. The year-long celebration will culminate at a Gala dinner on April 20, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia.
