Itasca, IL - Xeikon NV, an innovator in digital color printing technology, today announced another event in its series of signature Xeikon Café events, an educational and knowledge exchange platform covering different aspects of digital printing.

The latest event will be focused on the label & packaging market. It will take place on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at the Printability and Graphic Communications Institute at 999 Émile-Journault Ave East, Montreal, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing through mid-afternoon.

Helping Xeikon welcome guests to the event will be two-time Olympic moguls skiing champion, Alex Bilodeau of Team Canada. Fresh from the Winter Olympic Games, Bilodeau will give a luncheon speech. The event will also feature several educational presentations on the opportunities presented by the latest in digital production technology from Xeikon customers in North America and Europe as well as InfoTrends analyst Bob Leahey. Representatives from Canflexographics, Xeikon's channel partner in the Canadian market, will also be present at the event.

"The labels and packaging industry continues to experience change and innovation rapidly and on a large scale. Taking the time to come together and learn best practices from others faced with the same challenges is the idea that has made our Xeikon Café events so successful," said Michael V. Ring, president of Xeikon America, Inc. "We truly believe an educated customer is the best customer! The Xeikon Café events provide a great opportunity to learn and network with experts, and each other. In this particular case, everyone will also see and hear from a remarkable Olympic gold-medalist."

Hosting the event is the Printability and Graphic Communications Institute of Montreal. It is an integrated center for innovation and expertise in graphic communications and printing. The institute supports technological and commercial development in the graphic arts field, providing consulting on a variety of subjects including training needs, productivity improvement, new materials and consumables.
