Second International Award for Goss DigiRail Digital Inking System

Press release from the issuing company

March 30th, 2004 – Chosen from over 51 exhibitors, the JNPA (Japan Newspaper Publishers and Editors Association) has awarded Goss International the award for Technical Development Encouragement for its innovative design of the Goss DigiRail Inking System. Marketed worldwide as the Goss DigiRail and available on new Goss presses and as a retrofit to existing presses, the JNPA recognized Goss Digital Inking as a neat and compact system. Its ability to enable presetting and control of the ink density accurately was recognized as considerably reducing waste during start-up. The Goss DigiRail itself was first introduced in 2003 as an enhancement for existing presses and is already gaining orders globally. One of the largest Japanese newspaper publishers, Asahi Shimbun - Zama, who recently purchased a Goss Newsliner 90 press, has decided to install the Goss DigiRail. This is the second time in the recent months that Goss has received prestigious awards for its Digital Inking System. In November 2003 it was presented with a Technology Award at the GATF (Graphic Arts Technical Foundation) InterTech ceremony in San Antonio, Texas. It was commended in particular for its RIP presetting functionality and the ability to be retrofitted onto older presses. Dick Sutis, Goss International President comments, “We are honored to have been recognized on two continents for our Digital Inking system. Goss International has been focusing on its Goss ENHANCE program to provide press system upgrades and technical innovations that are of real benefit to our customers over the past few years. It is with great pleasure that we have received these awards, reflecting our long term focus on ‘Innovation for Business.”
