Press release from the issuing company
DES PLAINES, IL - SGK, a leading global brand development, activation and deployment company that drives brand performance, announced today that Scott Strong, senior vice president and group managing director, digital solutions, will present “Brand on a Wire: Walking the Tightrope of Regulatory and Consumer Trust” at The 2014 Packaging and Converting Executive Forum (PACE) on February 12 in Brussels, Belgium.
The 2014 PACE Forum will shed light on important industry issues that will help attendees step up their game while providing an unparalleled opportunity to collaborate and innovate with peers. With the need to evaluate technology advances from both a functional and strategic viewpoint, The PACE Forum will be looking at how brand owners can drive profitability through innovative package developments and improved operational efficiency.
Strong will address the elite group of industry specialists and key decision makers from the world’s leading fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) brand owners on the power of technology to enable companies today to complete quality and regulatory compliance, with an emphasis on EU1169/2011 Food Information Regulations – Manufacturer Obligations. Effective December 2014, all food and beverages sold in the EU must adhere to the EU directive concerning the display of product information both in-store and online.
“I am honored to take part in PACE 2014 and look forward to sharing how BLUE, SGK’s robust enterprise-level SaaS (software as a service) platform operates within the marketing eco-system to help global FMCG, retail and life sciences clients accelerate brand success and help drive brand performance,” commented Strong. “Brands know that consumer trust is one of their most valuable assets. And of course, brands are aware of the importance of complying when governments regulate safety into branded products. It can feel like a tightrope. One minor mistake and you’re looking at a long-lasting, even permanent, impact on your brand.”
Strong added: “The good news is that technology enables brands to make it to the other end of the wire. My session, ‘Brand On A Wire: Walking The Tightrope Of Regulatory And Consumer Trust,” will address how companies today are incorporating complete quality and regulatory compliance into their deployment processes – how the world’s most beloved brands are building consumer trust and getting packaging artwork right the first time.”
Strong has a 20-year track record of key consulting and new business roles at global technology companies specializing in solutions that deliver enhanced business performance. Previous positions include technology consultant at Accenture, design engineer at GE Transportation and senior sales positions at Siemens PLM and MSC Software. Strong earned a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management, a Master of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University.
