Grupo Ajusco Installs First Mitsubishi Diamond V3000LS Press In Latin America

Press release from the issuing company

MEXICO CITY (December 18, 2008) -- Many things can be said of Grupo Ajusco, but one thing stands out above the rest: The 34-year-old commercial sheetfed and web printer is a leader in the Mexican graphic arts community with one of the most modern and innovative presses in the industry.

Equipment upgrades are the key to being able to consistently offer customers the superior quality and productivity they have come to expect from Grupo Ajusco. As part of a modernization project, the company acquired the first Diamond V3000LS press serving the Latin American market.

"The sophisticated technology and versatility of the Diamond V3000LS will help Grupo Ajusco advance further within the printing industry," said Sergio Torres, director general. "In particular, the new makeready automation on the press will translate into higher productivity and savings."

Grupo Ajusco has been in business since 1974. Under the leadership of Torres, the company maintains a strong dedication to providing high-quality magazines, catalogs, books, periodicals and direct mail to produce the greatest visual impact for its customers.

Grupo Ajusco's customers have the security of knowing the company utilizes the most modern technology available. The printer decided to add Color Navigator, Mitsubishi's exclusive color adjustment interface, to the new press. Color Navigator simplifies the skill-intensive task of adjusting ink keys on printing units to meet color proofs or customer preferences.

"Color Navigator is allowing operators to correct color from an independent console by manipulating the keys of different zones with a single touch of the screen," Torres noted.

Compared with manual adjustments, Color Navigator cuts color adjustment time in half and increases reproduction accuracy by nearly one-third.

The Diamond V3000LS also is equipped with an X-Rite closed-loop color control system. The color-control system helps press operators bring the press up to color faster and maintain correct color values throughout the run.

The five-color Diamond V3000LS is Grupo Ajusco's third eight-page Mitsubishi press purchase since 1998. Throughout the years, the printer has been able to rely on a five-color Mitsubishi 3F and a five-color Diamond 3000LS for the production of magazines, pamphlets and other products.

In addition to the three Mitsubishi sheetfed presses, Grupo Ajusco runs three commercial web machines. Other products printed by the company include envelopes, flyers, newspapers and posters.

Mitsubishi Lithographic Presses (MLP U.S.A., Inc.), whose sales territory includes Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, launched the Diamond V3000 series at Graph Expo 2008 last October.
