All Pending Cases Relating to 577 Patent Against QI Press Controls Dismissed

Press release from the issuing company

Oosterhout - On December 2, 2013, the Federal District Court in Philadelphia fully and finally dismissed all Quad/Tech’s pending cases against Q.I. Press Controls related to the ‘577 patent.  Q.I. Press Controls is pleased with the dismissals.

Quad/Tech claimed that the Markless Registration System and Intelligent Density System of Q.I. Press Controls infringed Quad/Tech’s ‘577 patent, which describes a method to measure and correct registration from the printed image and without using well-known registration marks.  In one of the cases, Quad/Tech alleged that Q.I. Press Controls' Markless Registration System did not even exist and that Q.I. Press Controls deceived the industry by advertising a "phantom" product.  Q.I. Press Controls demonstrated the Markless Registration System at a printing press in Europe, and approximately one week later, Quad/Tech informed the Court that it would voluntarily dismiss the claim.

Q.I. Press Controls is pleased that these claims, all of which were without merit, are now dismissed.
