Mosaica Group Upgrades Pressroom of South Bend, Ind., Printer

Press release from the issuing company

Enhancements include digital control system upgrade, improved color management capabilities

Sussex, Wis. – The Mosaica Group, a graphic arts distributor serving companies throughout the Midwest, today announced that it has entered into a partnership package with Rink Printing in South Bend, Ind.

The Mosaica Group recently completed extensive upgrades to Rink’s pressroom, converting from FUJI printing plates to Agfa Energy Elite Pro plates. The move was a significant one, as Rink had been a FUJI customer for more than 20 years.

“We’re pleased to be able to help Rink print smarter,” said Randy Peters, Mosaica Group President and CEO. “These enhancements will help our partners at Rink optimize their operations and continue to provide superior service to their customers.”

The upgrades also included:

  • Additional pressroom productivity upgrades – The digital control system of Rink’s legacy Komori press was upgraded to an InkZone Preset and Closed Loop system, featuring the Xrite Intellitrax. This enables more consistent quality and significantly reduces makeready time.
  • Enhanced color management capabilities – The upgrades will reduce paper and ink waste, as well as produce consistent color that conforms to G7® specifications
  • Improved fountain recycling and cleaning system

The enhancements will help Rink Printing stay competitive in its premium print and finishing, creative design, marketing services and mail/fulfillment lines of business.

“The Mosaica Group continues to stand out as not only a trusted supplier, but a strategic business partner that is helping to advance our operations,” said President Mike Rink. “We’re eager to take advantage of the improved pressroom productivity that this new system offers.”
