Decorated Industry veteran Chuck Alessandrini has passed away. He was well known in the industry and will be well remembered by many. The following letter was sent to Soderstrom Society members by NAPL President Joe Truncale:
Dear Soderstrom Society Member,
I regret to inform you that former NAPL President and fellow Soderstrom Society member Charles A. “Chuck” Alessandrini passed away this morning.
Chuck joined NAPL in 1966 as a member of its Cost and Finance Department and served as its fifth President from 1982 until his retirement in 1991. During his presidency, a number of industry education programs were initiated, including NAPL’s Carl Didde WorkPLACE™ program and Management Institute. He was honored with the 1992 Walter E. Soderstrom Award.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the present time. Society members who wish to, may express their condolences to Chuck’s daughter, Susan Lanzarone, 147 Hope Road, Great Meadows, N.J., 07835.

I worked briefly for Chuck at NAPL before he retired as its president. The acquaintance was short, but his kindness and his gentlemanly leadership style are permanent in my memory. Chuck was a model association executive and a steadfast friend of the industry. He will be missed.
