Press release from the issuing company
Where others spend their holidays, the POLAR three-side trimmer BC 330 is busily and reliably doing its work.
The three-side trimmer is located directly opposite the Eurobind 600 PUR adhesive binder, so the operator of the adhesive binder can transfer the bound products directly to the loading opening of the BC 330 after a short setting time. The machine is then started at the touch of a button and the operator can continue to work on the adhesive binder.
The stacked products are separated from above by an intelligent suction line. Suction cups that are not needed are automatically turned off. As a result, up to 220 products per hour can be cut automatically. The compact and robust cutting unit guarantees maximum possible stability and therefore also a precise cut that is gentle on the material. The products are fixed by a wide clamping bar the clamping force of which can be continuously regulated on a dial in order to meet the requirements of all materials. In addition, the cutting cell is easily accessible and enables the blades to be changed quickly and easily
Overall, the operator has a very good view of the automatic cutter thanks to the large inspection window, and can therefore always see what is happening inside the machine. If the format needs to be changed, the operator enters the necessary data on an input screen and the cutting program is created automatically on the basis of this.
"We used to have bottlenecks on the cutting machine," says Peter Zabel, "and we therefore decided to invest in the three-side trimmer." The BC 330 has now been in use for a few months, and Fabian Keller wouldn't be without it. He particularly appreciates the ease of operation and the clear time saving compared to before, when the products were still cut on the guillotine-type cutter. The product quality has also seen a clear improvement and the production process has been optimized. As a result, only one operator is now needed for the adhesive binder and the three-side trimmer.
