INX International, Air Motion Systems schedule first ever UV-LED Curing seminar at Print 13

Press release from the issuing company

Schaumburg, IL – In step with the company’s focus at the Print ’13 conference, INX International Ink Co. will join host Air Motion Systems/AMS UV for a unique one hour seminar on UV LED Curing geared towards Sheetfed Offset printers and Flexographic narrow web label converters.

Jonathan Graunke, Vice President – Energy Curable Technology for INX and Steve Metcalf of AMS, will explain how LED UV can successfully be introduced to a press room.  The session runs from 12:30 - 1:30 pm on September 10 in room S404BC on level 4 at McCormick Place in Chicago, and is free to all registered Print 13 attendees.

LED UV Curing systems are currently in use on high speed offset and flexo presses in the United States and other countries, and have emerged as a viable alternative to conventional mercury UV and additive type UV systems.  One area of the INX booth (217), as an example of its “FX of INX” theme, will be dedicated to educating sheetfed printers on how to achieve a faster return on investment by retrofitting their presses to LED UV.  Another section will feature the NW140 inkjet UV digital narrow web press and demonstrate its capability to deliver UV-LED cure single pass output up to 80 feet per minute on any label stock.

At the seminar, Metcalf and Graunke plan to discuss details of UV LED systems for the non-digital workplace, the benefits and ROI for investing in this equipment, and how it compares on the technology scale.  They will also provide examples showcasing its current use in the field.

“UV LED curing is already established in the digital segment of printing.  We are planning on providing information to the many printers who would like to see how this technology can help them,” said Graunke, a noted expert in the field of UV LED curing for conventional print technologies.

“We will explore where the UV-LED ink technology is today, including its challenges.  Most important, we hope to show how the technology can enable printers to enter the instant dry world of UV, even on existing equipment.  There are a lot of unique uses for LED UV, and like all new technologies, there is much confusion surrounding its abilities.  I think this session will give printers insight into an extremely important part of the industry that is rapidly growing and continues to evolve.”

INX and Air Motion Systems (booth 563 - www.airmotionsystems.com), a leading U.S.-based manufacturer of high performance UV and LED curing systems for printing and industrial curing, are joining forces at Print ’13 for a new Bundle program to help reduce the outlay expense for an LED investment.  Printers will have the opportunity to combine their LED UV curing systems and printing ink needs into one simple and complete printing solution.  Visit either booth to learn more about this program.
