SPRINGFIELD, MA - Providing educational tools such as webinars for paperboard packaging converters and suppliers is an important part of PPC’s valuable member offerings. And since the start of 2013, the Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) has released a number of new webinars that cover best practices, lean efficiencies, design solutions, and sustainable gluing technologies, many of which have been viewed well over 100 times in just a few months.
The webinars include the popular presentation, “How to Improve Make-Ready Times Through Kaizen Practices,” in which Alan Phillips of Clearwater Paper’s Technical Converting Solutions team explains how developing standard work procedures and implementing continuous improvement techniques will not only energize one’s staff but also reduce make-ready times by up to 75%.
The benefits of streamlining workflow in order to recognize and repair areas impeding success is discussed by David Taylor, General Manager of EFI Radius, in the webinar “Lean Efficiencies: Unlocking your Lean Potential.” On the sustainability front, Rick Pallante of Nordson Corp. discusses the latest advancements in adhesives in “Moving Towards Sustainability Through Adhesive Dispensing Technologies.”
But perhaps the most popular webinar to date is Solution Manager at Esko Susie Stitzel’s presentation. “Tips and Tricks for Structural and Graphic Design” provides valuable pointers for structural and graphic designers, such as what motivates brand owners to redesign packaging, how to create successful packaging solutions, which important design considerations are often overlooked, and an overview of the latest packaging technologies.
“Our robust webinar library is a fantastic resource for members,” commented Ben Markens, PPC President. “With industry authorities contributing their unique expertise, the resulting bank of information allows any staff member of a PPC company to log in and learn at their convenience.”
