New Directors Elected to PGAMA Board

Columbia, Maryland -The Printing and Graphics Association MidAtlantic (PGAMA) is happy to welcome three new Directors to its Board of Directors for the 2013-2014 term. With two-year terms beginning August, 2013 the new Directors are:

Mr. Gary Habicht, President, Printing Specialist Corporation, Glen Burnie, MD. Gary has previously served on the PGAMA Board of Directors (2005-2010), the Printing Industries of Maryland Board of Directors (2003-2005), the Association Workforce Development Committee, and on the Advisory Board for the Center of Applied Technology North (CATN).

Mr. Ray Zancan, President, Zancan Press, Inc. Upper Marlboro, MD.  Ray Zancan started a career in printing in the early 80's. During his career, he's been a driver, cameraman, stripper, production manager, customer service representative, and an estimator, before starting Zancan Press, Inc. in July 2000. Keeping with the multitude of changes the industry has gone through since the company's founding, Ray has morphed Zancan Press into a diverse communication company. He runs his business with Nickie Zancan, his wife of 27 years, and their son, Josh.

Mr. Benny Bowman, President, Worth Higgins and Associates, Inc., Richmond, VA. Benny Bowman was recently promoted to the position of president at Worth Higgins. He had previously served as the firm's Chief Operating Officer, directing and coordinating the activities of the company in accordance with the policies, goals and objectives established by the Board of Directors. Benny is a graduate of The Printing Industries of America’s Executive Development Program and has worked in bindery, pre-press, sales and sales management in our industry, beginning in 1981. He chairs the scholarship committee for the Association for Corporate Growth, and is a frequent speaker at international DSCOOP event.

The new Board members were voted into office, and have volunteered to serve. Each individual works in a leadership role at their respective companies, all of which are businesses that are active members of the Association.

The Board of Directors oversees and gives direction on the programs and benefits that PGAMA provides members to help keep their graphic communications businesses vital. The Association provides executive development and skills training, regulatory guidance, and political advocacy, along with benefits including group insurance plans, electricity discounts, and retirement packages.
