3M Envision Print Wrap Film 480Cv3 Awarded Best Environmental Substrate by European Digital Press Association

Press release from the issuing company

EDP calls 3M’s high performance, non-PVC wrap film "a breakthrough"

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Last year’s introduction of 3M Envision Wrap Films promised graphics professionals that they could expect more from a non-PVC film. Now, the graphics world is taking notice, with the film recently being recognized with an EDP Award from the European Digital Press Association.

The European Digital Press Association, an independent group with members in 23 European countries, annually recognizes the best in innovative technology within the digital printing market. 3M Envision Print Wrap Film 480Cv3 was recognized as the “Best Environmental Substrate” for 2013, only a few months after its European launch. In its nomination of the product, the EDP called out several distinguishing factors of the wrap film, noting it was “a breakthrough in the market.” The Association also highlighted the fact that there is no price barrier to adoption of the film, and that its coverage by the 3M™ MCS™ Warranty is seen as valuable by brand owners. The EDP Award winners were announced during the most important international event of the year for Large Format Industry in Europe, the FESPA London tradeshow.

As many professionals are now discovering, 3M Envision print wrap film 480Cv3 and 3M™ Envision™ Gloss Wrap Overlaminate 8548G outperform not just non-PVC wrap films, but all wrap films for applications that demand outstanding performance, including cars, trailers, trucks, boats, buses, motorbikes and textured walls. The wrap film is highly conformable, installs in extreme temperatures, has high tensile strength for faster removal, and offers exceptional clarity, durability, easy repositionability and comprehensive ink compatibility. Graphic manufacturers and installers can also benefit from the wrap film’s sustainable edge. Its non-PVC formula reduces issues with incineration as no chlorine or other halogens are added during manufacturing. The films are also phthalate-free and use less solvent, and are made in part with bio-based materials.

“This award supports 3M’s reputation as the innovation leader in our industry – a leader who consistently brings new solutions to the market that enable our customers and the industry to grow,” said Michael R. Kesti, Ph.D, Technical Director, 3M Commercial Graphics. “The best-in-class performance (conformability, durability and removability) of the new 3M Envision Print Wrap Films in a non-PVC format is a significant technology breakthrough, but more importantly, enables new applications and offers brand owners a more sustainable option for their graphic needs.”
